As a 64-year-old woman and being an absolute novice at anything to do with exercise, I was nervous about joining a Pilates group but I shouldn’t have worried; it’s been amazing! I suffer with poor joints due to arthritis, it’s always ensured that I never do anything that might aggravate the condition. I feel more supple and, dare I say it, more energetic! Although I am part of a group, I’m sometimes given a different way of tackling some of the moves to compensate for my joints, and she motivates me to try a little bit harder. Although I have started to notice the changes in my body and strength, my mental health has also improved. I have never come away from a lesson feeling sore and I look forward to the next one.
